Description:
Primary Objective of Position:
Ensuring that meetings and food functions are set-up to meet specified guest requirements on all function sheets. Also ensures that equipment is kept in a clean, functioning, and organized and secure manner.
Major Areas of Accountability:
1. Translates information on function sheets into room set-ups to satisfy all guest needs and requests.
2. Checks meeting rooms for linen and supplies to assure everything is neat, clean, and properly set.
3. Maintains all banquet space and storerooms in clean and organized condition to provide an efficient work area.
4. Keeps all floors and service areas clean and clear of unnecessary equipment to assure safe working environment.
5. Keeps all equipment stored and banquet areas locked with lights off to maintain security and energy control.
6. Communicates with client for special needs or requirements and informs Banquet and Events Manager to keep operation flowing smoothly.
7. Always maintains a friendly and courteous manner with fellow employees and resort guests to promote positive work and guest relations.
8. Refreshes all meeting rooms on breaks with necessary items and removes trash promptly to keep meeting space neat and tidy.
9. Ensures the proper set-up testing of the audio and video equipment to meet guest needs.
10. Breaks down room sets at end of functions and leaves a clean area to accommodate sales clients and sets.
11. Assures all banquet room doors are locked to safeguard resort equipment.
12. Performs other duties as required or requested.
13. Monitor location of all meeting and banquet equipment and supplies.
14. Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
15. Keeps supervisor fully informed of all problems or unusual matters to facilitate corrective action if required.
16. Attends meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among employees promoting higher morale, productivity, and efficiency. Maintains a professional working relationship with all other departments.
Requirements:
Prerequisites:
- Must have current valid driver’s license (not probationary or occupational).
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of customers and staff.
- Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least two years of front-of-the-house restaurant experience and/or banquet/event positions.
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and occasionally lift to 50 pounds.
