Overview:
Bichler & Longo is looking to expand our Workers' Compensation practice. We represent injured workers, specifically, first responders. We are seeking a full-time entry-level attorney to join an active team of hard-working and collaborative members. Responsibilities:
Analyze legal, medical, and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, independently develop and present case strategies on behalf of clients in a case inventory of worker’s compensation files representing the injured worker.
Prepare pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions and briefs in support of case and litigation strategies with supervision.
Responsible for handling pre-litigation and litigation matters.
Provide effective and timely communication, information, legal advice and other services to clients on legal and factual issues.
Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel and co-counsel in a manner consistent with established office procedures.
Communicating with clients to learn about their legal needs and concerns and providing them with advice.
Developing strategies to resolve cases favorably for clients.
Explaining legal options to clients and bringing possible outcomes or threats to their attention.
Building relationships with clients and unions based on trust.
Staying informed about current legislation and new case law decisions as they are published.
Finding ethical solutions to legal matters.
Review new and existing matters for issues and benefits owed to the injured worker.
Properly track and record time billed on case-related tasks.
Manage litigation of claims and issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in the state in which you intend to practice.
Experience or expertise in worker’s comp or litigation but not required.
Commitment to abiding by local, state, and federal laws and behaving ethically.
Ability to work independently or with a team of attorneys to develop case strategies.
Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, public speaking skills.
Ability to negotiate, research, and communicate verbally and in writing effectively.
Adaptability and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently to complete all necessary matter tasks and maintain an organized case load.
Ability to use technology on a daily basis: Microsoft Office, Adobe, Zoom, paperless file management system etc.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
