Administrative Assistant
The position provides operational administrative support to the pastor, the lead administrative assistant, and the Director of Religious Education at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church.
This position reports to the pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The position receives functional guidance and direction from the lead administrative assistant for the parish. This position requires a solid understanding of the Catholic faith and a working knowledge of diocesan and parochial church practices and structures. The position also supports the Director of Religious Education and the church’s faith formation programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains all social media for the Parish, Facebook, Twitter, and Sacred Heart website
- Answers incoming telephone calls in a courteous and friendly manner, directs calls to the proper party, connects callers to voicemail, and/or takes and delivers messages as required
- Maintains an orderly filing system for the parish, including maintaining an accurate database of required documentation
- Accepts requests for Mass intentions and schedules the Mass intentions
- Sets up for Masses as required
- Maintains all Catholic sacramental records and notifications
- Maintain faith formation information via the parish’s database system, including processing faith formation activities, database management of parishioner and student information, teacher information, schedules, reporting, etc.
- Answer all faith formation phone calls in a resourceful, courteous, and friendly
- Generates reports to the Director of Religious Education, as needed
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $25.80 per hour
