A boutique accounting firm is seeking a motivated professional to join their team as a full-time Bookkeeper, working with the team as a leader in the development and execution of bookkeeping services for our clients. The ideal candidate is a team player who leads the bookkeeping arm of the firm to greater performance, creates and implements strategies and works with the accounting and leadership teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and potential areas of risk. The bookkeeper will complete data entry, collect transactions, track debits and maintain and monitor financial records. They also pay invoices, complete payroll, assist with the filing and assembly of tax returns.

Salary: $70-$90K DOE
What You'll Do:
- Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
- Enter in payroll journal entries with gross salaries and withholding
- Know how to reconcile liability accounts like credit cards and lines of credit
- Understand how the Chart of Accounts changes from entity type to entity type
- Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
- Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience
- Must have strong understanding of journal entries, payroll, debits and credits, and difference balance sheet versus profit and loss
- Must reside on the East Coast of the United States.
- Strong skills and experience with Word, Outlook, Excel, and any other Microsoft 365 products.
- Familiarity with CCH Axcess, ProSystem FX Engagement, and Quickbooks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well independently
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
